Healthy tooth roots are covered by gum. The declining of gum (which can happen at old age, or due to wrong cleaning techniques, hard tooth brushes and abrasive toothpastes) may cause caries in the root area. Root caries often leads to loss of teeth. Oral hygiene with fluorided dental care products is of importance for preventing root caries.

Restylane - a wrinkle-free skin in a few minutes

Restylane is a new product to add volume to lips and lift up wrinkles and folds with immediate results. Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body and, in contrast to Botox, not a neurotoxin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is biodegradable. Restylane and the body's own hyaluronic acid bind water, and together they create volume in the tissue.

A treatment generally takes 30 minutes and is relatively painless. An anaesthetic can be applied to the area being treated prior to the procedure. When enhancing the lips, a local anaesthetic injection is often given.

Immediately after the treatment a slight redness and swelling in the treated area may occur. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days.
